UIT collaborated with its Strategic Ally Spectra Environmental Group (www.spectraenv.com) to investigate suspect encroachments of the El Paso Corporation’s Tennessee Gas Pipeline right-of-way by private utilities in a residential development. UIT generated 3D images and maps clearly demonstrating that utilities had indeed encroached upon the right-of-way. It was determined that the vertical distance between the main transmission pipeline and the encroaching utilities was within 5 ft, a finding that illustrates the capability of UIT’s technology to accurately measure the distance between subsurface features in the vertical direction.
